Event Details
Join us for the first ever SUN RUN brought to you by Sunterra Market in support of the Bower Place Community Association! This brand new event is a fundraiser for improving our local community shelter, and providing a better space for our neighbours, and all of Red Deer, to gather and meet in.
Participants can register to run or walk in either the 3km or 5km event, and every participant will receive a treat at the finish line, courtesy of Sunterra Market! There are two Dairy Queen Bubble Run events: 100m for children ages 1-3, and 500m for children ages 4-5 - participants will receive their own prizes for finishing.
Everyone is welcome to join us afterwards for the Bo's Bar and Stage Afterparty featuring a barbeque, bounce houses, live music, and beer garden. All sales will be cash only, but an ATM will be onsite.
This year, we are honored to be hosting the City of Red Deer Rising Sport Stars awards presentation, with Mayor Ken Johnston starting at 9:00 a.m. Athletes will be recognized for their enthusiasm and contribution to their sport.
Families are also invited to plant trees with the Bower Place Community Association as part of our longstanding Mother's Day weekend tradition.

Registration Cost:
$20 - Youth
$30 - Adult
Entry includes race bib, finisher's food, potted plant from Blue Grass Garden Centre, gift from Sunterra Market at package pick up, and automatic entry for gift certificate draw prizes to local businesses. Youth registrations include edible finisher's medal and all-day bounce pass.
Note: this is a self-timed event. A timing clock will be positioned at the finish line for reference.
Package pick up Friday, May 10th at Sunterra Market, Bower Place Shopping Centre - 4:00-8:00 pm.

What It's All About
The kitchen in the Bower-Kin Community Hall is in need of upgrades! The Bower Place Community Association has received a Community Facility Enhancement Program grant from the Province of Alberta for 50% of the cost of the renovation, and now needs to fundraise the remaining portion to ensure we can continue offering our free programming to our community throughout the year in a space that can accommodate these activities!
Our sponsors and participants are helping us to ensure that the Bower-Kin Community Hall remains a place in which our neighbours can meet, host their own events, and gather as members of the greater community. By increasing our connections, we improve our lives, increase our safety, and help others around us.
Community solves many problems, and it begins in our neighbourhood!
